Now Hiring - Inventory Operations Specialist 

We’re looking for an experienced, collaborative and data-driven Inventory Operations Specialist to join our Operations Team and support the company to capture our client’s unique stories and memories with our extraordinary, original, handcrafted jewellery.   

You’ll have the natural ability to work with integrated software systems and tools using your advanced excel knowledge to create detailed, accurate data models to guide strategic planning. As an imaginative and strategic thinker, you’ll blend expertise in disciplined inventory management processes with forward-thinking strategic inventory planning models to help us have the right product available at the right time to delight our clients.  

Your key areas of responsibility will include overseeing inventory management, ensuring our pricing and quotes are accurate and competitive for current market conditions, managing supplier partner relationships, business reporting, and bringing a continuous improvement mindset to the management of our internal systems and processes. You’ll work closely with other members of the Operations team and wider company, domestically, and on exciting international contracts to achieve the Company Goals. We will support you to develop your knowledge and skills base to grow your industry knowledge and capability. You'll be committed to creating a consistently excellent experience for our clients and your teammates across every touchpoint. 

This role is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, at The Village Goldsmith Design Hub, 78 Victoria Street in downtown Wellington. It is not suitable for WFH. 

About you: 

  • Have deep experience in inventory management including experience in stock take processes, product assortment management, planning, ordering and receiving stock 
  • Enjoy analysing data and reporting on sales trends related to assortment, pricing and merchandising to inform revenue target setting and future planning 
  • Are a naturally curious person and a problem solver, knowing how to collaborate and influence to get things done in a fast-paced team environment 
  • Possess exceptional excel skills with digital tools including project workflow software, point of sale database, customer relationship management systems and website platforms. 
  • Are comfortable acting as a process and project manager, helping the team continuously improve how we work together and use data to inform our strategic planning 
  • Possess a passion for the jewellery industry and have experience analysing data and industry trends to help ensure our assortment of stock pieces are optimised for current and future sales 
  • Excel at building genuine relationships with teammates and providing exceptional functional expertise and support  
  • Have 2 or more years' experience in inventory management and planning, merchandising with experience in luxury goods or fashion a plus
