Two Custom Engagement Rings, Two Proposals and a Double Yes!
From a quiet beach in the Cook Islands to a candlelit welcome home, Vikki and Acacia's proposal stories are as meaningful and personal as the engagement rings they designed with us. We were delighted to craft both of their engagement rings—two beautiful designs that reflect their individual styles, yet sit in harmony, just like the couple themselves.
When Vikki first came to The Village Goldsmith, she had one goal in mind: to surprise her partner, Acacia, with the perfect engagement ring. With Acacia’s sister involved in the initial consultation and our jewellery consultant, Courtney, guiding her through the process, Vikki selected a gorgeous princess-cut diamond ring with a diamond-set band, a ring she knew her partner would love.
Vikki proposed first, planning a special moment on the beaches of the Cook Islands, where Acacia's family has roots. After a sleepless night deciding where to pop the question, fate intervened when a visit from housekeeping nudged the couple outside for a morning beach walk. "Luckily, at 9 a.m., the beach was deserted," Vikki said. "We also just managed to squeeze in between two rainstorms!"

Vikki later worked with Meg, one of our expert jewellery consultants, to design a ring for herself. After the first proposal, both Vikki and Acacia decided they didn’t want matching styles and she chose a classic three-stone diamond ring crafted in platinum to complement Acacia's ring. Once the ring was completed, Acacia had her own surprise in store.
Acacia’s proposal was just as thoughtful, surprising Vikki with a romantic setup of candles and rose petals after work. It was an intimate and unexpected moment. "I obviously knew she had picked up the ring," Vikki laughed, "but I didn’t know she was going to do the beautiful candlelit rose petal setup."
Playing a part in Vikki and Acacia’s love story was a privilege, and seeing how these rings are now part of their journey is something we’ll always treasure. Congratulations again, Vikki and Acacia!
